Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Measures

This section describes the Prime Suite workflows that support the 2020 Medicaid Promoting Interoperability measures available in Prime Suite Reporting 2020.

Before using Prime Suite Reporting, you must configure a provider group in Prime Suite's Group Administration. See Including Data on Prime Suite Reporting for more information.

Objective 4, Computerized Provider Order Entry (must satisfy all 3)	Measure 1, CPOE for Medication Orders (Quick Start Guide)	EPs use Prime Suite to order (prescribe, refill, adjust) medications for patients.
Measure 2, CPOE for Laboratory Orders (Quick Start Guide)	EPs use Prime Suite to order laboratory tests for patients.
Measure 3, CPOE for Diagnostic Imaging Orders (Quick Start Guide)	EPs use Prime Suite to order diagnostic imaging tests for patients.
Objective 5, Patient Electronic Access to Health Information (must satisfy both)	Measure 1, Patient Electronic Access (Quick Start Guide)	The patient or the authorized patient representative is provided timely access to view online, download, and transmit his or her health information, and the patient's health information is available to access using any application of their choice that is configured to meet the technical specifications of the Application Programming Interface (API) in Prime Suite.
Measure 2, Patient Specific Education (Quick Start Guide)	The EP must use clinically relevant information from Prime Suite to identify patient-specific educational resources and provide electronic access to those materials.
Objective 6, Coordination Of Care Through Patient Engagement (must attest to all 3, meet threshold for 2)	Measure 1, View, Download or Transmit (VDT) (Quick Start Guide)	Patients seen by the EP (or their authorized representatives) actively engage with the EHR made accessible by the EP and either: (1) View, download, or transmit to a third party their health information; or (2) Access their health information through the use of an Application Programming Interface (API) that can be used by applications chosen by the patient and configured to the Prime Suite API; or (3) A combination of (1) and (2).
Measure 2, Secure Messaging (Quick Start Guide)	EPs use Prime Suite to send secure messages to patients (or their authorized representatives).
Measure 3, Patient-Generated Health Data (Quick Start Guide)	EPs incorporate patient-generated health data or data from a non-clinical source into the patient's chart in Prime Suite.
Objective 7, Health Information Exchange (HIE) (must attest to all 3, meet threshold for 2)	Measure 1, Create and Exchange Summary of Care (Quick Start Guide)	The EP that transitions or refers their patient to another setting of care or health care provider creates a summary of care record with Prime Suite and electronically exchanges the summary of care record.
Measure 2, Receive and Incorporate (Quick Start Guide)	The EP with a new patient receives or retrieves a summary of care document and incorporates it into the patient's chart in Prime Suite.
Measure 3, Clinical Information Reconciliation (Quick Start Guide)	The EP with a new patient performs a review of the patient's medications, medication allergies, and current problem list.
